Commissioner Anne E. Hoskins

Anne Hoskins was appointed to the Maryland Public Service Commission in September 2013 to complete a term through June 2016.  In addition to her role on the Commission, Anne serves as Chair of the International Relations Committee of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and also serves as a member of the NARUC Board of Directors and NARUC Committee on Gas. Prior to joining the Commission, Anne served as a Visiting Research Scholar at Princeton University, conducting policy research on distributed generation and lecturing on energy and environmental issues. She previously served as a senior counsel at a telecommunications firm and as an executive for an electricity and gas utility, leading its public policy and sustainability functions. Earlier in her career, Anne practiced as a litigation associate at McCarter and English, supported the implementation of federal anti-discrimination regulations at the United States Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, served as a policy adviser in the New Jersey Governor’s Office, and managed economic policy initiatives at a policy research and advocacy organization in Washington, D.C.

Anne is a graduate of Harvard Law School, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton (MPA), and Cornell University (Applied Economics). Anne lives with her family in Baltimore City.
